This home’s light-colored, Mediterranean style inspired our landscape design. The chief goals for the plan were to take advantage of the view, make it feel like a vacation spot, and give the area around the pool a Mediterranean feel that complements the house. The walkways, 200 feet of flagstone path, are lined with aromatic plants such as Butterfly Bush, Agastache, Lilac and Daphne. The pool is nearly invisible from the house, adding to the feeling of being “away from home”. A flagstone patio overlooks the pool and the gorgeous view, with white Asian limestone lining the pool itself. Masses of Liriope and Fountain Grass add lushness, and the lovely Italian Cypress of the Mediterranean is brought to mind with a beautiful line of narrow “Degroots Spire” Arborvitae.
