Thursdays, 10:30-11:30am

Join us for stories, crafts, and games! Story Hour meets weekly in our open-air Greenhouse, rain or shine.

Rutgers Arts: Plein Air Arts + Fundraiser

NEW DATE: Saturday-Sunday, October 2-3, 11am-3pm

Celebrate art, music, and community! Local artists will be working throughout the Nursery, all with work for sale. Live music with area musicians. Drinks and light fare from Blawenburg Bistro.

Benefit for Fisherman’s Mark: Our event will benefit Fisherman’s Mark, a Lambertville organization providing aid to area residents. Please bring donations: non-perishable foods, diapers, and personal hygiene items.

Outdoor arts: Make your own clay and fall harvest!

Saturday, Oct. 10, 1-2:30p

Artist Yuka will show us how to make clay with salt, baby oil, and gluten-free rice flour. Next, we’ll add color and sculpt own own fall crop of miniature fruit and veg!

A glorious day of gardens, art, and music in collaboration with New Hope Historical Society and New Hope Arts. The Nursery hosted eleven artists and three musicians.

Circus: a puppet show

Philadelphia’s Puppet Master David Fiebert returned with a new puppet show all about his friends at the circus. A great audience and perfect spring weather made for a marvelous day at the Nursery.

Snowflakes — Part 2: A real snowstorm in December kept us from finishing our holiday snowflakes. But snowflakes are just as fun in January! Artist Yuka taught us how to fold and cut our custom-painted paper to create huge snowflakes.

Princeton Artist Yuka Koiwa returned with projects to celebrate Thanksgiving and fall harvest. With her help our young artists created decorative turkeys and miniature ears of corn — to feed the turkeys, of course!

Our Nursery Associate Robin Lee-Cronin hosted a visit from the Flemington Brownie Troop. This is a brand new troop in Flemington, and their very first meeting!

Princeton Artist Yuka Koiwa visited Story Hour to help our young gardeners and artists learn about trees in autumn. They created cardboard trees with hand-dyed leaves made from paper towels.

A Rutgers Nursery Seminar: Design Techniques and Trends

Philadelphia Puppet Master David Fiebert of The Segal Puppet Theatre took us on a grand adventure with Bartholomew Bear and friend Patch. We explored all the seasons and met new friends along the way. 

 

 

 

 

An outdoor workshop — Make your own puppets!

Fun with socks! Add silly eyes, stars, crazy hair, and imagination. Puppet Master David Fiebert also demonstrated how to make origami paper puppets. Our young artists made some fantastic creations.

Arts Weekend and Fundraiser

A glorious event: artists, musicians, dancers, and perfect weather created a marvelous weekend. Hardy’s Café contributed coffees and baked goods from their Flemington coffee shop. The event benefited The Flemington Area Food Pantry and Delaware Valley Food Pantry. 

This weekend launched our Arts + Nature program promoting arts at our Nursery. A truly great beginning with more to come!
